Proper preparation and careful installation will help your DecalSale replacement decals look professional and last for years. Please read the complete guide before beginning.
Before Installation
Inspect every decal and confirm that the kit matches your equipment model, year, size, and layout before removing any decal from its backing.
Decals that have been applied, removed from the backing, cut, altered, or damaged during installation cannot be returned.
For the best results, install decals:

In a clean, dry, dust-free area

Away from direct sunlight and strong wind

At a temperature between 60°F and 85°F (15°C–30°C)

On a completely dry surface
Avoid installation during rain, freezing temperatures, extreme heat, or high humidity.

Hair dryer or low-temperature heat gun for curved surfaces
Step 1: Remove the Old Decals
Warm the existing decal gently with a hair dryer or low-temperature heat gun. Slowly lift one edge and pull the decal back at a low angle.
Remove any remaining adhesive using a product that is safe for the equipment’s painted surface. Test all cleaning products on a small, hidden area first.
Do not use sharp metal tools that could scratch or damage the paint.
Step 2: Clean the Surface
Wash the application area with mild soap and water to remove dirt, grease, dust, and residue. Dry the surface completely.
Wipe the area with isopropyl alcohol and a clean, lint-free cloth. Allow the alcohol to evaporate fully before installation.
Do not apply decals over wax, oil, silicone, rust, peeling paint, fresh paint, or other surface contamination.
Step 3: Position the Decal
Do not remove the backing yet.
Place the decal on the equipment and use measuring tape to confirm its position. Secure it temporarily with masking tape.
Step back and check the alignment from different angles before continuing. For large decals, place a strip of masking tape through the center to create a hinge.
Step 4: Apply the Decal
Lift one side of the decal and carefully peel away part of the backing paper. Cut or fold the exposed backing without touching the adhesive.
Using a squeegee, apply the decal from the center outward with firm, overlapping strokes. Continue removing the backing gradually while pressing the decal onto the surface.
Do not remove the entire backing at once. Avoid stretching the vinyl during installation.
Step 5: Remove the Transfer Tape
Press firmly over the entire decal, especially around edges, corners, lettering, and small details.
Slowly remove the transfer tape by pulling it back at a sharp angle, nearly parallel to the surface. Do not pull it directly outward.
If part of the decal lifts, lower the transfer tape, press the area again, and continue removing it slowly.
Curves, Rivets, and Uneven Surfaces
Apply gentle heat to soften the vinyl around curves, rivets, and minor surface contours. Press the material into place gradually with a squeegee or clean cloth.
Do not overheat or overstretch the decal. Excessive heat can damage the vinyl, adhesive, or painted surface.
Air Bubbles
Small air bubbles may disappear naturally after installation. To remove a persistent bubble, carefully puncture its edge with a fine needle and gently press the trapped air toward the opening.
Do not cut or slice the decal.
After Installation
Allow the adhesive to set for at least 24–48 hours before washing or operating the equipment in harsh conditions.
During this period:

Keep the decals dry

Avoid pressure washing

Avoid strong chemicals or solvents

Do not scrape or rub the decal edges
When pressure washing later, keep the nozzle at a safe distance and never spray directly against the edges of the decals.
